About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled, efficient, and reliable Video Editor to join our dynamic content team. This role is built for someone who thrives in a high-pressure, news-oriented environment where speed and quality go hand-in-hand.
You will be responsible for turning around polished, long-form edits on the same day the scripts are finalized. If you have a "newsroom" mindset and have mastered the art of the fast-paced edit, we want to hear from you.
About you
Language: Fluent in English (required). Fluency in French is a significant advantage.
Technical Mastery: Expert in Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop. You should have a streamlined workflow that allows for high-speed output.
News-Oriented: Experience in a fast-paced environment where content is ideated and published within 24 hours.
Content Versatility: Comfortable and professional when working with True Crime, investigative stories, and celebrity gossip.
Self-Sufficient: Able to source your own high-quality assets (rushes/images) without constant supervision.
Organized & Motivated: A proactive problem-solver who can handle a "one-edit-per-day" pace without compromising quality.
Main Assignments
This role focuses on editing long-form YouTube videos covering True Crime and Celebrity News. Because we operate in a real-time news environment, our workflow is intense: ideas are picked in the morning, scripts are written midday, and videos must be edited and published by the evening.
The ideal candidate is technically elite—using Premiere Pro and Photoshop with personal automations to shave off every unnecessary second of production time. You must be comfortable handling sensitive, complex, and sometimes disturbing subject matter with professional care and emotional resilience.
Rapid Daily Turnaround: Produce one full 6-minute edit (including images and sound) within a 3-to-4-hour window, plus handling translations and re-edits as needed.
End-to-End Production: Source your own rushes, archival footage, and B-roll to complement the script.
Narrative Flow: Apply strong pacing and visual rhythm to maintain audience retention in the fast-moving worlds of True Crime and Celebrity News.
Technical Efficiency: Utilize your own automations and presets to ensure the "same-day" publishing goal is met consistently.
Collaboration: Work closely with writers and producers to ensure editorial consistency and implement feedback on the fly.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Monthly Fee: USD $800
Performance Bonus: Up to $300 quarterly based on performance.
Payment: Billed monthly and paid via ACH/Wire in two installments paid the 15th and 30th days of the month following the billing cycle.
Contract Type: Service Contract – Independent Contractor.
Modality: 100% Remote.
