About the Role
We are looking for a fast, sharp, and trend-obsessed Scriptwriter with a background in journalism to join our fast-moving content team. This role is designed for a natural storyteller who lives and breathes pop culture, celebrity gossip, and trending news, and who knows how to turn breaking updates into highly engaging video scripts.
If you know the ins and outs of the Hollywood ecosystem, can spot a viral trend before it breaks, and possess the journalistic rigor to back up your entertainment writing, we want you to shape our daily narratives.
About you
Professional Background: A formal background in journalism with proven experience writing high-retention video scripts.
Niche Passion: Genuinely passionate about celebrity news and pop culture. You are deeply aware of the latest trends and public conversations.
Language Skills: Outstanding, professional-level writing skills in English (required). Fluency or writing proficiency in French is a major plus.
Geographic Location: Located in or closely aligned with the Western Europe time zone to ensure alignment with our morning news pipeline.
Soft Skills: Highly organized, exceptionally fast under pressure, proactive, and capable of working with minimal supervision to meet daily morning deadlines.
Main Assignments
Daily Scripting Output: Write an average of 2 long-form scripts per day under tight, news-focused deadlines.
Script Sourcing: Embed precise visual references (links to photos, social media posts, and videos) directly into your scripts to guide the video editors.
Active Ideation: Proactively pitch fresh video concepts during planning sessions, ensuring every story has a unique, high-retention "angle" rather than just reciting the news.
Trend Monitoring: Stay perpetually tapped into the pulse of breaking celebrity news, tracking platform trends, and monitoring shifting audience engagement patterns.
