About the Role
We’re looking for a highly skilled and reliable Video Editor to join our True Crime content team. This role focuses primarily on editing long-form YouTube videos covering True Crime stories, including complex, sensitive, and sometimes disturbing subject matter.
The ideal candidate is not only technically strong but also emotionally resilient, comfortable working with heavy topics, and able to handle these stories with care, accuracy, and professionalism.
In addition to True Crime content, this role may occasionally involve editing celebrity or entertainment-related videos, requiring versatility in tone and pacing.
Fluency in both English and French is essential, as projects may involve bilingual scripts, subtitles, or collaboration with international teams.
About you
Fluent in English and French — both required.
Proven experience as a YouTube Video Editor, with strong examples to demonstrate skill and impact.
Excellent command of professional editing tools (Adobe Premiere Pro preferred).
Comfortable working with True Crime, sensitive, or disturbing content.
Strong storytelling instincts and attention to detail.
Versatile and adaptable to different content styles and tones.
Organized, reliable, and comfortable working with feedback and deadlines.
Emotionally resilient and professional in handling heavy subject matter.
Main Assignments
Edit long-form YouTube videos focused on True Crime cases and investigative storytelling.
Apply strong narrative structure, pacing, and visual rhythm to maintain audience retention.
Handle sensitive and disturbing content responsibly and accurately.
Occasionally edit celebrity or entertainment content, adapting style and tone accordingly.
Source and integrate B-roll, archival footage, images, and graphics to support storytelling.
Collaborate closely with writers, producers, and editors to ensure editorial consistency.
Implement feedback efficiently while maintaining high production standards.
Ensure technical quality, accuracy, and compliance with platform guidelines.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Monthly Fee: USD $800
Quarterly performance bonus up to $300.
Payment: In two instalments, the month after services are provided
Contract Type: Service Contract – Independent Contractor
Modality: 100% Remote
